Jacqulyne Louise (Barber) Farrington

Jacqulyne Louise Barber Farrington, 74 peacefully entered into eternal life with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Belaire Healthcare Center, Gastonia, NC.  The beloved daughter of the late James and Emma Lee Herndon Barber was born on February 24, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  At an early age Jackie joined Hinton Chapel Church before moving to Washington, DC and the Durham Chapel Hill area.  Jackie was a 1967 graduate of New Bold High School.  Her Junior and Senior years she was a bus driver and the first person to score 100 points on the test to be certified in Lincoln County.  She attended Cortez Peter Business College in Washington, DC and Durham Technical Community College in Durham, NC.  She retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) in Chapel Hill, NC with 33 years of service.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel (Mickey) Farrington, and his children; Clifton Anthony Farrington, Elliott Keith Farrington, Mickey Leon Farrington, and one sister, Staff Sergeant Cynthia (Gail) Barber.  Jackie was a very loving sister, a caring and giving person who helped others when needed.  She was a true die-hard Carolina Tar Heels fan.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling to Las Vegas, and taking cruises.  Jackie loved her family and her fur babies.  She will truly be missed.

Jackie leaves to cherish her memory of two brothers, James Barber of Gastonia, NC and Michael Barber (Jocelyn) of Lincolnton, her husbands children; a son Timothy Farrington (Tonya) of Durham, NC, a daughter Felisah Farrington of Carrboro, NC, three sisters-in-law, Shirley Bynum, Carrie Farrington, and Diane Farrington of Chapel Hill, NC.  A special niece, Mia Barber, a granddaughter, Shanta Farrington, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins family, friends, and her extended Chapel Hill Family.
