Sarah Engle Ledbetter

May 28, 1931 – March 27, 2024

Sarah Nell Engle Ledbetter, 92, of Lincolnton passed away on March 27,2024 at the Greens of Lincolnton. 

Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Lincoln County on May 28, 1931.  Sarah was the daughter of the late Summey and Nancy Jane Engle and wife of the late Harvey Lee Ledbetter. She spent the majority of her career working in retail fabrics for TGnY and then Joe ‘n Jim’s grocery store.

She was preceded in death by two sisters; Linda Engle Fortenberry and Velma Engle Chapman and one son, Harvey Darrell Ledbetter. She is survived by one brother, John Ingle (Margie) and one sister, Nancy Engle Gates (Sonny); one step-daughter, Sandy Ledbetter Richardson, one grandson, Andrew “Drew” Ledbetter, one granddaughter, Cassie Ledbetter Hendrick (Daniel); and three great-granddaughters; Ryleigh Elizabeth Ledbetter, Morgan Kate and Hattie Jane Hendrick.

The Ledbetter family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home located at 118 S .Carolina Ave, Maiden, NC 28650. The funeral will follow at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Mathews presiding. The graveside service will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
