I remember chatting with Barry numerous times on a fairly local Amateur radio repeater in my early days on Amateur Radio in the mid-late 1980's. I finally met him and Melba at the Shelby Hamfest one year, and always thought the world of both of them. Barry was a character! Melba, you'll see Barry again when the time comes, never more to part.

I am sorry about Barry. I met him a few times when I was with Jimmy his brother. Jimmy and I were friends for over 35 years. Still miss him. I will be praying for your whole family.

In Christ Jesus name,

I talked with Barry many times on amateur radio and he was very helpful in teaching me the hobby. In addition, I enjoyed the conversations and his humor. I looked forward to meeting him. I even looked for him at the Shelby Hamfest one year when I heard on the radio that he was arriving. But I never got the opportunity to meet him. My condolences to Melba and family. Rest in peace AG4I.
