Helen Bryte Rash Hoffman, 92, of Lincolnton, went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2017.  Born in Gaston County, Helen was a daughter of the late Thomas Arthur Rash, Sr. and Fannie Huffstickler Rash.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James B. Hoffman; her brothers, Fred Rash, Odell Rash, and Thomas Rash, Jr.; and her sisters, Virginia Smith, Mottie Loftin, Agnes Ross, and Rena Gates.

Helen, a faithful Christian her whole life, was a member of Long Shoals Baptist Church.  She, her husband and Doc and Clara Hoyle were also instrumental in establishing the First Wesleyan Church in Lincolnton.  Helen enjoyed the playing the piano, and singing, a favorite pastime of her whole family.  She will be lovingly remembered by her family and her many friends.

Helen is survived by her sisters, Lois Huss, and her husband, Loy, of Lincolnton and Monee Adkins of Denver; her sister-in-law, Ruth Rash of Lexington; and heer many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on December 12, 2017 at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Reverend Ken Gibson officiating, assisted by Pastor Wesley Ingle.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Long Shoals Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Long Shoals Baptist Church.
