Obituary
Claude Lafayette Ashe was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on February 12, 1959 to the late Jessie M. Ashe and Lorene Davis Ashe. He departed this life peacefully on July 26,2021 at his home.
Claude graduated high school from Lincolnton High School. He later joined the Army National Guard. Claude served for 10+ years as a cannoneer with Battery C, 1st Battalion of Lincolnton. Claude loved playing the drums and used his talent by playing for the church and for local bands. He was a member of Poplar Springs AME Zion.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Jessie and Lorene Ashe, two brothers; Jimmy M. Ashe and Reginald Ashe, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter Ri'Chea Bess of Atlanta, Georgia, one brother William (Palastine) Ashe of Jacksonville Arkansas, two sisters; Carolyn Brown of Lincolnton, N.C. and Phyllis (Robert) Coulter of Hickory, N.C., one aunt, Ruth Pearson, one great aunt, Ester Mae Ramseur, and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
