Emilie Marie (Lay) Beer

Emilie Marie (Lay) Beer, 94 of Lincolnton passed away on November 6, 2023 at the Greens Nursing Home in Lincolnton.  Emilie was born in Berlin, Germany on April 9, 1929.  She received her U.S. Citizenship on November 8, 1957.  Emilie had a daughter who passed away at the age of 2 years-old.  She had no other living relatives.
     Emilie had many friends from the Lincoln County Senior Center where she participated in exercise classes, Bingo, and the N.C. Senior Games winning medals for her age group.  Emilie also had a wonderful church family at Riverview Baptist Church where she attended for many years.  Becky Putnam was a long time friend and her care-giver for the last 7 years.  Emilie would tell everyone she met that Becky was her daughter.   
     Emilie Beer’s graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Riverview Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pastor Bobby Brookshire will officiate.  Emilie’s wishes are to send a donation to Riverview Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.  The address is 2230 Riverview Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092
