Tony Dale Graff, 65, of Lincolnton passed away at his residence on September 13, 2021. Tony was born on January 13, 1956 to the late Roy Thomas Graff and Barbara June Hawks Gosthnian in Seattle, WA. He worked in packaging at Salem Industries. Tony attended Redemption Outreach Church. He loved people. Once Tony got started talking, you couldn't get him to stop. His family would kiddingly ask, "Who put a quarter in you, Tony?" Tony loved his family dearly. Although he barely knew his biologiacal father, Tony was very close to his adopted Dad, Harry "Gus" Gosthnian. Tony and his family all grew up in Seattle, WA and then moved to North Carolina in 2001. Tony's uncle, Lyle James Claflin, was his best friend. L.J., as he is known, would sit with Tony and they would talk and talk forever. They enjoyed their favorite foods and drinks together. The two always had fun together. Tony loved to sleep when he could and only got up for food, or to use the bathroom then right back to bed. Tony was the "best uncle ever" to his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by them. Tony resided at Umar Services where his housemates were like brothers to him.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his adopted Dad, Harry "Gus" Gosthnian, one brother, John Edward Gosthnian, and one sister, Dorothy Louise Rolph. Tony is survived by one sister, Joanna Marie Claflin, one brother, Harry "Skip" Gosthnian, Jr., his uncle, Lyle James Claflin and a number of cherished nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Tony's family will receive friends at 12:00 pm on Tuesday September 21, 2021 at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home in Maiden. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm on Tuesday September 21, 2021 in the chapel of Goodin-Drum Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn of Lincolnton.
