Tony Matthew Smith

Tony Matthew Smith, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023.  His family and all who knew him are deeply saddened by his sudden death.

Tony loved to be outdoors and would wear shorts with a bright orange T-shirt year-round, even with snow on the ground.  When he wasn't spending time camping with his family in Myrtle Beach, he was searching for a new waterfall to take the family hiking to see.  Tony never met a stranger and was always willing to help friends and neighbors.  He was known affectionately as "tidy-Tony".

Tony is survived by his wife Donna, daughters Paige and Savannah, stepson Josh, and brother Dr. William Smith and family.  Tony was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Smith and Shirley A. (Newhouse) Smith.

Services will be held at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home in Maiden, North Carolina.  The viewing will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home.
